Ghislaine Maxwell Case Implicates Powerful Figures

Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell | Bloomberg

On Thursday, July 30, 2020, federal judge Loretta Preska unsealed hundreds of documents following the ongoing events with Ghislaine Maxwell, her previous defamation suit, and many events that surrounded her deceased ex-boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein. While more documentation was withheld by judge Preska until Monday for Maxwell’s legal team, what has already been released already connected figures like former president Bill Clinton, attorney Alan Dershowitz, and Prince Andrew.

The Timeline up to this Point

Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who sued Maxwell in 2015 for defamation, has long been outspoken about the sex ring operated by Jeffrey Epstein. The suit was filed by Giuffre after Maxwell had blatantly claimed the former was lying about her experiences. In the prior case, it was revealed that Maxwell worked alongside Epstein in directing a sex trafficking ring.

The present development is backed up by the 2,000 documents unsealed in the same defamation case during 2019. A short time later, Jeffrey Epstein had been ruled deceased after being found dead inside his own holding cell. Epstein, the financier of a sex trafficking ring, had been awaiting charges.

Ghislaine Maxwell had later been arrested on Thursday morning, July 2, 2020. At the time, the charges levied against her was a six-count indictment of grooming young girls for sex. Maxwell is also charged with perjuring herself, specifically lying about not knowing anything about the sex trafficking ring. Prior to this, Maxwell was in hiding within the United States, allegedly moving constantly to avoid being apprehended. The judge had denied Maxwell bail on the basis that she is a flight risk.

Maxwell and Others Incriminated

As the legal events surrounding Ghislaine Maxwell stand now, legal documentation is still coming out in the case with more coming in relation to a “John Doe 1.” The federal judge, Loretta Preska, has granted a stay to Maxwell’s defense until Monday, August 1, 2020. Previously known as “Jane Doe 3,” Virginia Giuffre had named past president Bill Clinton, current president Donald Trump, Prince Andrew, and more on differing occasions.

Donald Trump specifically was mentioned differently than that of Bill Clinton or Alan Dershowitz. When asked about whether the current president had ever flirted or was seen on most of Epstein’s locations, Giuffre stated in the deposition:

He didn’t. That’s what’s inaccurate.

It should be stated that those named and accused in the documents released like former George Mitchell and current New Mexico Bill Richardson have denied the information. Bill Clinton, like Trump, had a friendly relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. Ghislaine is quoted as saying in the same deposition:

You know, I remember asking Jeffrey what's Bill Clinton doing here kind of thing, and he laughed it off and said well he owes me a favor.

Whereas there are no flight logs to Epstein’s Little St. James as of this time, there are many indicating Clinton had traveled on the Lolita Express. Little St. James was the island infamous for being one of Epstein’s primary locations and Lolita Express being the sex ring leader’s plane. The quote by Ghislaine is the first piece of evidence that Clinton visited the island.

Whereas others have been named, the information from the point of the victims is still oncoming and the story is developing with each new revelation.
